Welcome to Dr Jinseok Kim and Dr Jason Freeman who both joined the HONORLOGIC team as Research Fellows in April. Jinseok obtained his Social Psychology PhD in February 2025 at Yonsei University, Seoul, South Korea and Jason completed his Behavioural Science PhD in March 2025 at Hokkaido University in Sapporo, Japan. Jinseok is currently working with Dr Shuxian Jin and Stephanie Gunaratne on Work Package 2, which explores the relationship between honor culture and compromise. More specifically, he is investigating how honor influences the perception of compromising behaviour in negotiation, across both interpersonal and political contexts.
Jason is exploring the potential role of honor culture in shaping cross-cultural differences in forgiveness and person-perception after apology for interpersonal transgressions. He is currently working on Work Package 3 apologies and forgiveness. Specifically, the moderating effect of honor on perception of the effect of apologising (or refusing to apologise) on relationships between individuals.
