ANTISOCIAL PUNISHMENT STUDY IS LAUNCHED AT THE UNIVERSITY OF NOTTINGHAM

HONORLOGIC Research Fellow, Dr Shuxian Jin and Placement Student, Sonia Syed have been busy at the University of Nottingham conducting economic game experiments with the support of Lab Manager for CeDEx, Dr Jose Guinot Saporta. They also met with Simon Gäechter lone of whose experiments we are replicating at part of our project.

This study aims to replicate the experiment conducted by Herrmann, Thöni and Gächter published in Science in 2008 (hereafter HTG2008), and examine the role of a cultural logic of honor in explaining antisocial punishment in repeated social interactions.

Following this, the same experiment will be replicated in Egypt and South Korea, at the British University in Egypt and Sogang University, South Korea. Participants will be recruited through the participant pools of these two collaborating universities. All the study materials are translated into local languages for data collection.
