Dr Jinseok Kim

Research Fellow

Jinseok obtained his BA in Psychology and Social Behaviour at University of California, Irvine (the US), and his MA and PhD in Social Psychology at Yonsei University (Seoul, South Korea), under the supervision of Prof. Eunkook M. Suh.

Jinseok’s research interests revolve around understanding the evolutionary and socio-ecological factors that shape cultural differences in subjective well-being—its content (e.g., joy vs. meaning), predictors (e.g., inner experience vs. social approval), and modes of pursuit (e.g., material vs. social).

In HONORLOGIC, Jinseok is particularly interested in exploring the socio-ecological drivers of honor culture (e.g., terrain ruggedness, resource scarcity/portability, law enforcement effectiveness). He is currently working with Dr Shuxian Jin and Stephanie Gunaratne on Work Package 2 (Compromise).
